Manage Knee Pain With Eileen Vogt

Manage Knee Pain With Eileen Vogt

I’ve had multiple knee surgeries and live everyday with arthritis of the knee,”
but I’m happy to share that I also play tennis three times a week.”

Eileen Vogt, Certified Knee Specialist & Licensed PT

The knee is among the most used joint in the body, so there is no surprise that most people will likely complain about achy knees at some point in their lifetime.  In fact, the most common cause of knee pain results from general wear and tear from everyday activities, such as walking, bending, standing, and lifting.  As we get older, occasional soreness around the knee might be inevitable, but as Eileen Vogt – a 20-year knee therapist veteran – testifies, aging joint pain or even a serious knee injury most often does not have to bring you to your knees…pun intended. 🙂

Meet Eileen

Eileen Vogt, Boerne, Texas Knee Pain Therapist

Being relatable with those struggling to manage knee pain is one of Eileen’s most valuable assets as a physical therapist, specializing in knee therapy.  Eileen doesn’t just have the clinical experience in treating knee pain, she can also leverage her own personal rehabilitation experience when helping her patients recover from knee surgery, manage pain, or live an active lifestyle with knee arthritis. After tearing her ACL in college and undergoing multiple knee surgeries, Eileen knows first-hand about the persistent physical therapy work and will to move past the throbbing pain that is required to achieve full recovery and a post-injury active lifestyle.

Eileen’s Approach to Knee Physical Therapy

In addition to being relatable, providing personalized support rooted in education are also key components to Eileen’s impressive therapy outcomes and success rates. Eileen approaches every new therapy program with a full patient intake interview. It’s during this first interaction that the most vital details of a patient’s condition are exposed.  Even though most physical therapy sessions begin with a referral, either post-surgery or from a primary care physician, knee therapy patients can expect Eileen to ask questions such as:

  • What everyday activities cause pain in your knee?
  • How much pain are you experiencing around your knee?
  • How long does it take for pain to subside?
  • Have you found any pain relievers that appear to work well, such as medication, ice packs, etc.?
  • Are there other body parts that also hurt, like your back or hip?

As early as the first session, Eileen’s goal is to help provide pain relief.  To that end, her therapy approach generally always includes both manual therapy, as well as physical exercise.  Manual therapy is the process of using her hands in a curative and healing manner or a hands-on technique with therapeutic intent, which often results in some immediate knee pain relief.  This approach is continued throughout the therapy program along with various knee strengthening exercises.  Patients can expect to work with Eileen through a highly personalized physical therapy program two to three times a week for six to eight weeks.
