Hand Therapy

Certified Hand Therapy

Hand therapists play an important role in helping people regain their independence and function after an upper extremity injury or disorder. They work closely with patients, physicians, and other healthcare providers to provide comprehensive and individualized care.

Here at Trio Rehabilitation & Wellness Solutions, we offer Certified Hand Therapy (CHT) Services, which is a more specialized type of therapy provided by occupational or physical therapists who have met the rigorous standards established by the Hand Therapy Certification Commission, Inc. (HTCC) – a minimum of three years of clinical experience, including 4,000 hours or more in direct practice in hand therapy, and have successfully passed a comprehensive test of advanced clinical skills and theory in upper limb rehabilitation.

As a result of their specialized training, a therapist that is a CHT practitioner is able to provide a higher level of hand therapy services and care than other therapists, and they bring an added dimension to this specialty area. They are experts in the evaluation and treatment of upper extremity injuries and disorders. Comprehensive hand therapy services include a wide range of techniques that they can use to help patients recover.

Hand therapy services may include treatments for the following conditions:

  • Arthritis and rheumatic diseases
  • Developmental delays
  • Dupuytren’s disease
  • Fractures
  • Nerve injures and conditions
  • Tendon injuries and repairs
  • Vascular disorders
  • Wounds and scars
We can help!

If you believe you may benefit from the treatment of a hand therapist, don’t wait! Give us a call and schedule an evaluation with our very own Certified Hand Therapist, Kathy Baker, or visit the Hand Therapy Certification Commission website to learn more about certified hand therapy services and techniques.
